Poll question: How Optimistic Are You about Health Care Reform?
What do you think is going to cross Obama's desk, if anything?

1. I have no idea... I know what I want, . . I know what I fear. .
I know what THEY want, I know what THEY fear. . .

I know how craven a big damn chunk of "our" reps are and I wish I had as much money as the insurance industry lobby...

I swing wildly from hope to despair, from "I could maybe live with that" to "what the hell am I going to do?"

The whole thing is bad for my blood pressure.

2. You included the plan outlined by Obama in his campaign.
I have wondered why it is he doesn't promote his own plan as outlined in his campaign. It was not a bad plan and it was quite detailed and specific. It had a public option that was modeled after the FEHBP - Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. So why is he having everyone re-inventing the wheel without at least proposing the plan HE RAN ON? He acts like it doesn't exist.

I remember very detailed discussions, debates about specific healthcare plans during the debate. John McCain wanted to tax benefits. Oh, no, we would NEVER tax benefits, yet I hear that's in some proposals. Hillary wanted mandates. Oh, no, mandates were bad. The health insurers needed to be regulated more and reined in. Guess who seems to be driving the bus? Public plan, Public plan. Now people are trying to lose the public plan or gut it.

Also, where's the transparency we were promised? We're going down the road that torpedoed Hillary in the 90's.

4. Excellent post
On one hand I voted for Obama, I know he's an intellectually gifted man, and he did run on a platform of health care reform. On the other hand I'm becoming increasingly scared and frustrated by what I see, it's looking more and more like our large, greedy insurance companies will be allowed to keep driving the bus.
