Joe Scarborough was especially obnoxious and childish this morning...
He waves his hands in front of Mika B's face and talks over everybody. Everyone around the table was rolling their eyes at one another because of his behavior. At one time, he started misquoting Jesus and singing, "Holy, Holy, Holy..." It appeared to be a very uncomfortable setting for all around the table.

It is not unusual for him to interrupt Mika B as she attempts to read the headlines, a la Alan Colmes. But this morning, he was exceptionally embarrassing. I hope MSNBC understands that people are watching.

no matter what they do.

So continue to enjoy!

4. I seldom watch it anymore, however...
I think it is important to monitor because he and Buchanan usually set the talking points of the day for the media and the Republican Party. It has nothing to do with "bravery".

7. My teen daughter keeps me on "the straight and narrow."
If I wander over to MSNBC in the early morning hours, she says, "Mom, you know he's going to say something stupid and you're going to yell back at the TV ... AGAIN?" I feel guilty and switch channels.

Parents can be embarrassing in so many ways ... even when nobody else is around. :P

He's always obnoxious and childish. Mika claims to be a "journalist". Two of the many reasons I don't tune to MSNBC until 8:00 PM.

More reason why I only watch MSNBC online instead of live.

Of course, I don't have a choice- it's not exactly on my cable system.

15. I Caught The End Of The Show - Put It On Too Early To Miss Him Altogether - But .....
what I saw was a guy that seemed to either be drunk or on something. He's really a looneytune. They should drug test this guy. He appears to be going off the deep end. Perhaps he's trying to emulate the head of his party - Rushbo - and he's hit the Oxycontin. Or perhaps he's worried over his admission that he has a mole in the CIA that has been leaking him info on the Pelosi situation - that was the story yesterday - did he make any additional statements or retractions from yesterdays show?

16. It's entertainment -
for those who are entertainment-deprived and lack any taste - but why people turn it on is beyond me.

Complaining about it is, in my opinion, not allowed, since you're voluntarily subjecting yourself to this nonsense.

Read something good instead, and enjoy it. Those people are only there to put on a show.

Your last line is touching in its naivete - of course MSNBC knows people are watching. That's what they want, and that's why they encourage this kind of crap. Ratings, and people like you watching ....................

17. We know.
Some folks are too good to subject themselves to such punishment. After all, somebody will tell them what happened later. They don't have to bother their beautiful minds. It isn't important. We will listen only to those with whom we agree. Thanks for your comments. I apologize for having the TV on when this crap was coming out of it. We would all be better off if we just stuck our heads in the sand. Thank you.

18. You're making it personal,
and that's unfortunate. My comments were not directed at you personally, so relax and try to understand that your watching those shows is what keeps them going. Commenting on them amuses people who don't watch them.

It's sort of like you bought a pair of shoes for a dollar. Everyone told you they'd fall apart, that you can't get decent shoes for a buck, and then then they fell apart first time you wore them and you're shocked.

I don't care what anyone watches, but doing something voluntarily, knowing what nonsense it is, and then complaining about it - well, next thing you know, you'll be hearing that there's gambling going on in Casablanca....

19. I have no idea why your comments seemed like a personal attack?
But understand that Buchanan and Scarborough are putting out the talking points of the day is not like a cheap pair of shoes, in my opinion. I think it is dangerous to ignore them. Obviously, we disagree. Tell me again how stupid I am and I will try not to take it personally.

21. No, no, you misunderstoood -
I wrote that YOU were taking my comment personally. I take none of this personally at all.

Do you really think Scarborough and Buchanan have any meaning in today's world? I find them superfluous and useless, but then, that's why you watch that show, and I don't. I get enough Buchanan when I watch Tweety -a rare occurrence - and, thankfully, he seems to have disappeared from Rachel's lineup.

To each his own. Enjoy. I am just glad that morning TV isn't a custom in our house, so I just get to enjoy the day from its beautiful start.

Have a good one ..............

24. I don't know what that means,
but if you give people like Scarborough and Buchanan credibility and visibility, you're giving them power. Without people paying attention to them, they wither and die.

But, as long as you're happy, that's all that matters...............

23. Was it just me, or was Mika threatening to discuss the dead intern???
She was pretty upset about "the elephant in the room" whenever Joe discussed "personal issues in his past" relating to Elliot Spitzer. She kept saying there were lots of things he had to answer for, while Joe kept trying to make the case that what happened in Spitzer's past was irrelevant, and that they only wanted to talk to him because of his expertise in law and being Governor. At one point she said something like "I could bring up some things you wouldn't want me to talk about," at which point Joe looked directly into the camera, smiled, and went to commercial.

Was she threatening to bring up the reason why Joe was forced from office???

Oh, god, I'd love to see THAT!

25. I didn't get that impression. I'm not sure if Mika even had anything important to say, really.
She was so evasive and babbling about what the secret shocking issue was, my guess is she caught herself before saying something more pointless than usual and didn't know how to back away gracefully. Then Joe simply piled on because, well, he's an asshole.

(And gawd, yeah, I'd like to see her stumble into asking about the dead intern, too!)

Edited on Wed May-20-09 11:35 AM by Independent_Patriot
Since Dead Intern Joe got a radio show and is now vying to pick up O'Reilly's old radio slots, he has really ramped up the wignut rhetoric. Taking a tip from the toxic AM rado landscape, he clearly knows insanity sells. If and when he leaves MSNBC, watch for Olbermann to give him long overdue "Worst Person" honors. No sooner had Tucker switched to FOX News this week than Keith finally nominated him.

28. Joe is an asshole
who has no place calling someone else out for acting holier than thou, but as much as it pains me to admit it, I found myself agreeing with his point today. Mika was saying that she felt uncomfortable having Elliot Spitzer on Morning Joe because she felt there was an "elephant in the room". Joe said "Oh, that he was caught with a hooker?" Mika said something to the extent of feeling used since she thinks Spitzer wants to run for office again and thinks they should "ask the tough questions" (whatever Mika. Morning Joe isn't exactly the place for asking the tough questions, and as much as you hate it, you are no journalist). Mika said that she wasn't JUST referring to the hooker thing, but troopergate, other potential abuses of power, etc. But she said like three times "As the ONLY LADY at the table, I just feel", which made me think she really did take issue with the hooker thing. Joe basically said that hooker/other scandles have been hatched out in other interviews, and since Spitzer is no longer governor, he would rather ask about Wall Street and ask Spitzer about troopergate, etc, if he ever DOES run for office. Joe said that Mika just wanted to do her act of being shocked that Spitzer was caught with a hooker. Again, he had a point, because Mika does do that. Unfortunately, so does Joe, which I'm sure escapes him.
