Do republican men have a problem with strong women?
I just have to post this comment I found to an article at ThinkProgress called Kristol: ‘Dick Cheney, Most Valuable Republican.’ (the article contents are obvious from the headline).

Here's the comment, posted by ADAY on May 15 (lightly edited for spelling):

The Truth is Republican Men have a problem with Strong Women.

Republican Woman they have representing them

Michelle Bachmann
Sarah Palin
Dana Perino
Mika Brzezinski
Miss California
Ann Coulter
Elisabeth Hasselbeck
Virginia Foxx
The entire set of women on Fox News
Lindsey Graham
Mary Matalin -- And the weakness of their women goes on and on

Now compare their women to strength of the Democratic Party:

Barbara Boxer (who cannot stand Mika Brzezinski)
Hillary Clinton
Dee Dee Meyers
Nancy Pelosi
MSNBC Women – Contessa, Tamron, Norah and Rachel (Rachel Maddow especially known for her takedown of Joe Scarborough on Race to the White House)
Maxine Waters
Claire Mac
Kathleen Sebelius
Sheila Jackson Lee
Amy Klobuchar
Barney Frank (Known for his takedown of Joe Scarborough on Real Time with Bill Maher)
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz!
KIKI MCLEAN -- And the strength of our women goes on and on

ADAY, how right you are! I'll bet you even missed a few in both lists. And you are almost forgiven for including Barney Frank in the second list. :eyes:

1. Every time marriage comes up in freeperland (yes, I cannot

help but lurk there)... the discussion devolves in to the need to marry a submissive foreign wife; thus, insulting American and foreign women. I believe you are correct.

Edit: grammar

3. I think it is more that
the type of man who has problems with women, blacks, jews, muslims, hispanics, anyone "other," not part of their fraternity or pool-hall crowd, is drawn to the republican party

6. Yes...Next Question...
When you work for the rich and privilidged, it's an all white boys club. No girls allowed unless they "put out" for the boys.

7. well, what are women for anyway.... to republicans, women are baby factories
that make your dinner and pick up your gross underwear and socks off the floor. When I look at a republican, I watch their wife who seems to always walk behind them. She defers to her husband. stands there when he is admitting to sleeping with a prostitute or something being humiliated in public by having to stand there while he does it. and i don't think ALL republicans are like that... but I do notice the subtle body language between the guy and his wife....

now look at obama and his wife.... she does not stand in his shadow. she walks right next to him, confident and self assured.... the wife a man has says alot about him. some men don't like strong smart women... I am not sure if it was because obama was raised by his mother and grandmother... and they were so strong themselves and therefore that is what he found for himself. i am not sure of the psychology. but you can sure tell.

8. They have problems with ANY woman.
They'll keep them around as tokens, breeders or general slaves; but as long as "they know their place" and "they know who's BOSS" (them's code words for "White Republican Male") everything will be juuuuuuuust fine . . .

Should McCain and Palin have won (:scared: :scared: :scared: ), it'd probably make their heads spin if you told them there'd be a better-than-average chance that the country would be run by a (gasp) WOMAN.

9. Think of the lists from the angle of 'nonsence and craziness'.- saying
things that are embarassing to themselves and their Party. The Dem women talk facts, no fantasy, bizarre stuff.

I am unhappy with the names of Lindsey Graham and Barney Frank in these lists. I have to figure out what it is - swarmy? I don't know. I know it's unnecessary.

11. Mary Matalin, Lynn Cheney, Kay Bailey Hutch, etc
are all pretty tough ladies, you have to give them props for that.
They are just terribly misguided and consumed in selfish and hateful GOP philosophy.
