"Enhanced Interrogation Techniques" was originally a term coined by the (wait for it) Gestapo. Something to consider when you hear someone (typically a Republican politician) using that term as a substitute for torture.

The phrase "Verschärfte Vernehmung" is German for "enhanced interrogation". Other translations include "intensified interrogation" or "sharpened interrogation". It's a phrase that appears to have been concocted in 1937, to describe a form of torture that would leave no marks, and hence save the embarrassment pre-war Nazi officials were experiencing as their wounded torture victims ended up in court.

3. and the techniques they used followed communist China
China, as you know, used them to elicit false confessions for propaganda purposes
while these guys thought they could use them to elicit facts

4. Sounds like the Gestapo was even more civilized than the USA
Hanging one by their wrists wasn't included in their techniques nor was putting insects into a coffin sized box with a naked prisoner.

6. Look to Donald Rumsfeld and his "Strategic Support Branch" (The American Gestapo)
Rumsefeld is a Nazi and should be tried in the World court as such for crimes against humanity.

(snip)

"SSB was created with "reprogrammed funds" that fall outside the oversight of congressional appropriations. Operations handled by the SSB also falls outside of congressional oversight. This has given Rumsfeld a fully operating intelligence arm run and regulated by him for the last two years. "
