So yesterday I turned on the radio and heard that Oprah is a pig and Obama is a closet Muslim

So I sent an email to the hosts of the show. Still no reply. I am forwarding my email to the station manager.

I wonder how they would react of they got a LOT of emails? Hint Hint. [email protected]

I will admit I don't listen to your show often. I turned it on today wanting to hear some local news and weather and I heard one of you call Oprah a pig. So I turned to another station for my news. Then an hour or so later, I turned you on again wanting some news and I heard you talking about President Obama not attending the National Day of Prayer and one of you said the reason is obvious "Obama is a closet Muslim". The absence of laughter tells me you honestly believe this and were not being sarcastic.

I hope I don't need to explain why calling Oprah a pig is offensive. If I do, I guess I am wasting my time emailing you.

The comment about Obama was disgusting for a couple reasons. First of all, the implication is that something is wrong with being a Muslim. I would strongly disagree. Secondly, do Muslims not pray? Are they not participating in this National Day of Prayer? I looked on the website for the event and can't find evidence that this day is restricted to any particular religion.

I also guess you don't know that Muslims have died in Iraq wearing US military uniforms. Are their deaths less significant because they are Muslims?

If our president was a Muslim, would something be wrong with that? And how can he be a Muslim yet be criticized for attending a Christian church for 20 years with a radical minister? I am assuming you didn't join in on that criticism last year since you believe he is a Muslim.

I do plan on tuning into your show daily long enough so I can note who your sponsors are and communicate with them that they won't be getting any of my business from now on.

I doubt Oprah listens to your show but you owe her an apology. You also should apologize to any Muslims who may have heard your comments today. In case you didn't realize, there are quite a few Muslims in the Kansas City area.

No I am not a Muslim and I am also not an Oprah fan. My purpose for contacting you is to let you know that some listeners expect people in your position with a listening audience to behave responsibly and avoid insults and misinformation on the air. Surely we can have insightful and informative political discussions without insults such as the two I heard today.

4. I am sick of this shit. There is NO progressive radio here on our am dial.

This station plays Rush 3 times a day. Same show.

We have a wonderful fm community radio station that has a couple good progressive shows. But that's it.

I was honest in my email. I wanted to hear some weather because storms had been forecast. I was on my way home and wondering if I needed to water my plants.

I was stunned to hear them talking about Elizabeth Edwards being on Oprah today and Shanin says "speaking of pigs" and they both laugh. I thought they were calling Elizabeth Edwards a pig! Then he says "well Oprah has put on a lot of weight lately".

I about wrecked my car. I was so pissed.

They talk and listen only to themselves, they have their own news sources that reinforce their template of threatening conspiracies, victimhood, and Dominionist myth and lore. They have a class of well paid and self-interested inciters who are making bank and advancing their personal agendas by feeding them the raw meat they want.

I hope it doesn't culminate in something... unpleasant.
