Matthew Shepard Act

Correct me if I am wrong, but I just stumbled upon that last word in an article about yesterday's vote. Does this mean that 25 U.S. representatives are not just homophobic, but also do not consider attacks targeted against a disabled person because of their disability to be a hate crime?

Either way, what kind of immoral heartless sick bastards do we have representing us?

1. Their hatred of "teh gay" outweighs any concerns for disabled people

3. I have another question about this Act and am ashamed to admit I haven't...
paid close attention. Because of the name of the bill and the public discourse, I have assumed it was hate crimes based on sexuality and gender identity.

It was only today I noticed "gender" and "disability."

Black mark for me on citizenship, yes.

So here's my next question. What are the implications for rape charges, and other crimes against women, when this passes the Senate?

4. I honestly have no idea
I didn't even realize gender was in it, because some crazy "feminist" poster was ranting yesterday about how the bill showed gays don't care about women.

2. Hope they have good opponents in their next elections;

they make good targets for a big voting push.

It could be a real statement to unseat as many on that list as possible. :nuke:
