Morning Joe Summary for the 28th
Today they were laying heavily on all the torture lies and excuses..like

We didn't do it.
We did something but it wasn't torture.
It WAS torture, but it worked.."that's the important thing"
ALL the Democrats knew exactly what we were doing and were fine with it.

etc etc etc.. I have a hard time watching that crap, believe me. Sadly, there are far too many people out there why BUY that stuff. That's why we have to make sure that the information that exposes the lies is OUT THERE where it can be used to refute this crap...

BTW.. Margaret Carlson's heart is in the right place, but she's far too polite to be onstage with the Buchanosaurus.

There was also the slant on the budget:

"They've got reconciliation for the whole budget, including health care - He's steamrollering over the Republicans in a dictatorial way"

Chuck Todd segment:
.The Manhattan fly-by mess..
.Swine flue. . .
.Mentions the Congressional Progressive Caucus.. that Obama is meeting with today.. (I hope they give him a lot to think about!)
.Some discussion about the polls..

Majority Whip James Clyburn to talk about the budget bill. (I think I like this guy).
He's talking about America's improved mood. Pat asked him if the Dems are going to use reconciliation to ramrod Health care reform and "tell the Republicans to go fly a kite". He answered pretty much "Yes"... If they don't come to the table by the 15th, reconciliation it is!"

Joe moaned about the deficit. (I'm guessing he doesn't have grandchildren, because if he did he'd be bringing them up about now.)

Sorkin came on for a financials segment that was unintelligible for me..

That ass Richard Shelby came on and cried and cried about reconciliation.. I guess both Republicans out there in America will be raising the roof of the Capitol any day now... Joe was positing that Harry Reid would be in trouble at home in "moderate" Nevada if he kept it up...
LOL.. He doesn't believe that the Repugs are at 21%. . .

Joe is REALLY upset about Darfur and I think it's genuine.. He's saying China be damned. And I agree with him.

Gene Robinson is discussing his column today saying that the Russian stockpile is at least as worrying as the possibility of loose nukes.. but something like a pandemic is more likely.

Paul Ryan, baby Repug from Wisconsin was next, he called reconciliation "negotiation with a gun in one hand" ... nice. "The President isn't being bi-partisan.. waaa waaa waa" Complaining about the "hard to the left" move.. He claiming that they've offered alternatives.. Lol.. He's defending the superrich tax breaks by claiming that it's small businesses that get the brunt of the code.... Conflating earnings with profits like they usually do..

Closing with Bob Dylan and Brinklley's Rolling Stone article...and Jeff Daniels. .

I think that covers it.. Anyone remember or spot other stuff that I missed?

5. HuffPost has a piece about Scarborough
Apparently Scarborough said that if we are attacked again, it would be unfair to blame Pres Obama: we need to blame Dana Priest instead, because as soon as she started writing about torture, the gig was up. And there were no journalists on the show willing to defend a journalist doing a journalist's job. Carlson and Mika, who are allegedly journalists, sat there in their usual compliant posture while Scarborough vilified Priest's Pulitzer-winning work. Just astonishing.
