If you sneeze throw out the kleenex.

Use that hand goop.

Any more suggestions?

1. Warsh? You sound like my mom, lol.
Of course her's sounds more like "worsh". I don't hear that much in Texas. ;-)

15. In East Texas, it's more like "worsh"
I was 14 before I knew the capital of the USA wasn't "Worshington." You can still hear a softened version of that pronunciation when you listen to Bill Moyers.

11. I remember being at the Dr. office several years ago during cold/flu
season and EVERYONE in the waiting room was coughing, sneezing, and just looking overall terrible. When I was called into the exam room, I asked the nurse "How the heck do you folks keep from catching this stuff? You spend all your days with the sickies!" Her response, along with the Dr. said "WASH YOUR HANDS ALL THE TIME! DON'T TOUCH ANY ORFICE OF YOUR BODY, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, etc. That's how germs enter your body."

Ever since then, when someone in our house has ANY illness, I practice that process, and 99% of the time, it works! In almost 4 years, I've had ONE COLD, and that's it.

20. Yep. That's all it takes.
I remember when I joined a gym several years ago, and I was getting a cold a month until I started carrying a little bottle of hand sanitizer in my pocket.

12. Thanks for the PA memory.
I grew up near Reading and remember hearing a lot of people pronounce 'wash' that way.

I think I'll go warsh my hands right now for all my PA relatives! :)

17. Long rinsing in warm water (15-20 seconds) is better than soap and short rinse
My mom, a fourth generation Californian, told me to "worsh you hands before dinner". My pops, from Midwestern parents, was born and raised in So Cal told me to, "Wash the car".

21. Wash thoroughly; leave NO chance for bacteria to survive, multiple, and develop immunity
toward the soap. We have antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria; we don't want that problem worsened either.

....trains, and buses if possible, avoid casinos and food buffets.

Now is the time to take your plastic sheeting, wrap it around your and head, duct tape in on solid!

If you're out in public, try to find a large fountain, remove all clothes, and rinse thoroughly!

Kill any strangers that come within 100' of your house!

Stockpiling 50000 units of Tamiflu is vital.

Keep a large knife handy unless you have to kill yourself before the flu gets you!

If you see any hispanics, people from Kansas, Texas, or New York, call Homeland Security.

Always use tongs when opening mail.

Avoid sniffing farts (may not keep the flu away, but those damned things stink!)

If you must get out of bed, try to keep it for trips to the fridge and bathroom only!

Go ahead and call in sick now. You can work when the threat is over....say November.

Think of ways to blame the flu on republicans. They need the press!

30. I use face cloths for drying hands after washing them
I bought small baskets that I put next to each sink and I keep them filled them with small cotton face cloths. That way we don't reuse one towel for everyone to dry their hands on. Instead, you wash your hands, use a fresh cloth to dry and then drop it in the basket next to the vanity. It just seems more sanitary than having that one towel that hangs in the bathroom that everyone uses.
