It Would Be So Cool If Obama Called Texas' Bluff
What an opportunity to expose the Republican party as what they truly are: Anti American to the extreme. Republicans don't care about America, Republicans care about themselves and their grip on power.

I would love to see Texas actually begin the process of seceding. I hope Obama subtly eggs them on. He can't do it overtly, but I bet there are ways to agitate them. I want to see the Republicans squirm on that tight rope. It would split them even further than they already are. Expose the Republican party's base for what it really is: A bunch of unamerican secessionists.

10. That's what gets me. He runs his mouth & says
one idiotic sentence to impress his nutty crowd, and people actually think anything's going to come of it? People, please....

14. Unfortunately his idiotic utterances...
... only provide fuel for the most extreme RW elements in the state and there's no telling what the fallout from that could be. One does not joke about secession.

3. He's pandering to the underbelly of the right. Call him on it.
Make him put up or shut up. Now.

4. Perry'd just back down.
Or he'd equivocate somehow to try and avoid losing whatever face they have. In truth, no state should be let go.

Furthermore, every state has its weirdos, but Texas is trending bluer as time goes by. A couple more elections and who knows?

If Obama were to call Perry out, Perry's response'd be like hot air squeaking out of a balloon if he had any political sanity in him.

5. It's not "Texas' bluff", it's Rick Perry shooting his mouth off. He doesn't speak for
me or the other 3.5 million Texas voters who voted for Obama...

Sigh.

13. West Berlin.
But of course, Perry is being a gasbag for the right.

I agree that he should be made to sweat, ruffle his hair, and retract in front of his base.

11. There are too many good Texans to let that happen.
Yeah, there does seem to be an inordinate amount of right wingers there, but I'm from Az, so I can't talk.

12. Texas is one state that I will never set foot in. Set her free!
And send * out of our country with one strike of the pen. How cool would that be. He would have only Texas unless he could talk Mexico into having him. If he stepped foot in the US we would have to try him for war crimes!! I can dream can't I?

15. Delay was claiming that Texas would/could split into five states and
The Federal government would throw Texas out rather than let them have more senators. He kept saying "ten more senators" but it would 'only' be eight more.

that little contest if she wants it. He's nuts....
