Mike Webb (R.I.P.) - a tribute show with reruns of his shows is now streaming
at http://stream.1047thequeen.com:8001/listen.pls

He was a very effective and popular radio talk show commie-pinko-socialist-anarchist-gay activist (in other words, he was sane, honest, intelligent, insightful and well-informed) in Seattle and was murdered 0n April 13 two years ago.

Listen.

In addition to his 3-hours on the 50,000 Watt KIRO station (and before that some other stations) he also started a low power FM station to share his DJ side in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, which one of his friends took over and has since continued on the internet at that link. But for the evening of the 12th and onto the 13th that station is replaying several of Mike's broadcasts.

Listen.

His Webbsite is still up at http://www.mikewebb.org/ and for some of the best clips you can go to http://www.mikewebb.org/audio.htm . If you are not yet inclined to listen and need a hint about what you might be getting into try one of my favorites, try this one: http://www.mikewebb.org/audio/LEVIS.mp3 as a sampler.

Then Listen: http://stream.1047thequeen.com:8001/listen.pls

3. I miss him terribly. I like all the progressive radio voices
because they all offer a little push toward a better world, and what helps me best may not help another. But my top two were Mike Webb and Mike Malloy. There was a year or so when they overlapped for an hour and I had to try to listen to both simultaneously and hope that muted commercials came at different times.

I had to double-check that is was only two years, since it seems I have missed listening to him for a lot longer and many more days than that.
