Just for shits and giggles, take a look at what the GOP
is crying about as "Democratic Pork!" in the emergency funding/scheduled troop withdrawal bill: http://www.nytimes.com/packages/pdf/opinion/20070330_opchart.pd

There are multiple sops to the dairy industry, but that's hardly a one party bailout. The Safe and Drug Free Schools Program is another loser that smacks of conservatism.

Most of the rest of it concerns agencies that have been underfunded for years, emergency assistance to farmers who were hammered by this weird winter, and emergency aid overseas.

There are no bridges to nowhere. There are no new highways to service a Congressman's mansion and not much else. None of it is going to creepy ceremonies where little girls dressed as brides pledge their hymens to Daddy.

It's astonishing what the GOP considers "pork."

(I hope the pdf loads for you. The editorial that cited it was by subscription and not worthwhile)

3. Yeah, I was afraid of that.
That's why I gave a bare bones description of what was in it.

It was broken up into House and Senate "pork." Most of the questionable stuff came from the Senate, a much more conservative mix than the House.

The House "pork" contained $13 billion for housing programs. I imagine that's what has the right wing shrieking the loudest.
