Somali pirates seize ship with 21 US sailors UH OH

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Fifth Fleet confirmed that a Danish-owned, U.S.-operated container ship carrying 21 Americans "came under attack" about 240 nautical miles southeast of Eyl, a town in the northern Puntland region of Somalia.

1. This was bound to happen.
When Somali pirates increased their seizing of ships, I knew they would seize a US ship at some point. I am sure there are plans to deal with this. Let's hope they are successful and spare injury.

2. The ship is a D.O.D. contractor ? Carrying emergency relief to Mombasa?
Sounds like an euphanism for "humanitarian aid" that often turns out to be weapons.
Why is the D.O.D. providing "emergency relief" supplies?
