WASHINGTON --Rep. James McGovern, a leading anti-war voice in the House, said Thursday he's supporting Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential bid despite her 2002 Iraq war vote. "I feel strongly she would be a great president," McGovern said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "I want a president who not only wants to end the war, but has the experience and ability to make it happen."

Clinton has faced criticism from many Democratic activists for her 2002 vote authorizing military action in Iraq. While she has refused to repudiate her vote, she has harshly criticized the conduct of the war, saying "if we knew then what we know now" she never would have voted as she did.

The Worcester Democrat said the prospect that Clinton could become the first woman president also has great appeal. He recalled picking up his 5-year-old daughter, Molly, at school the day after Clinton announced her candidacy.

"All these 5-year-old girls were buzzing about Hillary," he said. "It was one of those moments that you always remember. These little girls sensed that something big was happening. This is a bold, exciting history-making candidacy."

1. Resistance is Futile
All of Hillary's corporate cash cannot be overcome - she has far more than anyone.

I, for one, welcome our new triangulating master - er, mistress.

Some Notes on Primary Season

1) Your favorite candidate is the only one who can win.

2) Your favorite candidate is the only one who will truly get behind a progressive agenda.

3) Other candidates are part of some nefarious conspiracy to destroy your candidate.

4) Supporters of other candidates are motivated by groupthink.

5) Supporters of other candidates are operating in bad faith and arguing dishonestly.

6) "Powerful" bloggers shouldn't be "biased."

7) Primary season is the silliest season of all.

4. What am I?
Hillary Clinton is my last choice for the nomination because of all the Dem candidates...
she doesn't have the best voting record,
she doesn't have the most experience,
she doesn't excite the youth the most,
she doesn't excite the progressive base the most,
she sure as heck won't be any kind of unifier,
she already has the most people committed to voting against her,
she has the worst favorables/unfavorables.
Many rightwingers (like Falwell) want her to be our nominee, which isn't a good sign,
she will inspire more 3rd party defectors than any other candidate,
Nader is already hinting about running if she gets nominated,
and all her money and name recognition is not keeping her from getting spanked by Dame Rudy and Weathervane McCain in most polls.

And I don't have a favorite but I like Obama, Richardson and Edwards.

Well, there are other candidates who want to end it more, and have more experience than she does. Other than getting money, there is nothing Hillary has on the other candidates.
