Geithner questioned about Goldman Sachs ties
There are only a handful of members of Congress who ever say what actually needs to be said. Maxine Waters is one of them.

Picking someone from Goldman Sachs to clean up Wall Street is like putting Tony Soprano on the anti-mafia task force. He might do a good job, but his family will profit from it.

It was priceless watching Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner’s stunned expression as he listened to questions from Representative Maxine Waters, Democrat of California, about his ties to Goldman Sachs.

Waters wanted to get at the “linkages and the connections among a small group of Wall Street types who are making decisions,” she explained. To that end, she asked Geithner, was it possible that Goldman Sachs could have been chosen to help run the new Public Private Investment Program?

Yes, he allowed, it was possible.

And did Goldman Sachs receive money from failed insurance giant AIG?

Yes.

And did Goldman Sachs get a piece of the government’s TARP program?

Yes.

And did former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson spend a lot of his career at Goldman Sachs?

Yes.

1. outstanding! GRILL HIM!
Maybe if there is a hue and cry, they'll boot him. Or at least he'll have to maybe put in some experts to unravel this mess instead of swiftly sweeping it under the carpet.

3. My additional questions for Geithner:
How much did you make when you worked for Goldman Sachs?

How much do you make currently?

Will you accept a job at Goldman Sachs once you leave your government position?

What have you done as Treasury Secretary that conflicted with Goldman Sachs financial interests?

How can we be sure that you don't have a blind spot for dealing with your old employer or even that you are protecting or actively helping them with your office?

7. "Geithner questioned about Goldman Sachs ties"
"Which ones," Mr. Geithner responded. "The paisley? The lovely red-and-blue striped one? I got lots of neckwear from Goldman Sachs."
