Question for union members about H1B visas.
I'm curious about what lobbying efforts--if any--the unions are making to reduce or stop the issuance of H1B visas in the face of the Obama administration's commitment to maintain or even increase the number of visas issued.

1. None that I'm aware of
The H-1B visa program allows "temporary" entry into the United States for workers in "specialty occupation" fields. "Specialty occupation" is defined as a job that requires theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge in a field of human endeavor, such as science, technology, engineering, medicine, research, etc. By and large, these white collar professions are not unionized to begin with, so unions have little stake in the H-1B program.
