CNBC has just announced Howard Dean joining them as a Commentator
Just watching their morning show where they announced it.

I don't know if it has anything to do with this announcement from March 3:

Dean Joins McKenna Long & Aldridge

Tue, Mar 3, 2009

Faces, Home, Jobs, Law Firms

Howard DeanFormer Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean has joined McKenna Long & Aldridge as an independent consultant, for the firm’s government affairs practice in Washington, DC.

As a senior strategic adviser and independent consultant, Dean will consult with clients on a variety of public policy issues, with a focus on health care, energy, and public-private partnerships at the state and local level.

The firm says he has no intention of lobbying on behalf of clients. He also has no intention to scream.

The move to the private sector comes shortly after President Barack Obama bypassed the former governor of Vermont as his choice for secretary of Health and Human Services, in favor of Governor Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas.

“I was pretty clear that I would have liked to have been Secretary of HHS but it is the president’s choice and he decided to go in a different direction,” Dean said in an online interview.

Atlanta-based McKenna, Long & Aldridge LLP was ranked the 100th largest law firm in the country by the National Law Journal in 2007. The firm also ranked 141st in profit per attorney on the 2007 AmLaw 200 survey.

1. I hope he will be on MSNBC and NBC a lot too. He is a great advocate.
Harold Ford as the resident "Democratic" spokesperson replaced by Howard. Sounds like heaven.

3. This is great news
As I said a few weeks ago, Howie Dean is the best Democratic voice of TV.

I think this choice by CNBC says something. They apparently are realizing that there is a market for a progressive voice. It's fantastic to see that the media is starting to realize this. Kowtowing to their corporate masters doesn't help if they're not delivering an audience to their advertisers.

5. It Seems a Waste Of the Good Doctor's Talents
but if he's shut out of the election process, it's probably the best position he can find for influencing public opinion and policy. Another Keith Olberman? We can never have too many!

6. HAHA!
I can't wait to see Thurston Howell III (aka Larry Kudlow) debate Howard Dean. That's going to be funny ass shit.

10. That's kind of weird.
I mean, good for him, and it's obviously great having someone we trust in there. But it's still kind of random.

11. Probably not random...
I think maybe this is an attempt by CNBC to try to repair its image. They still have a long way to go on that...
