I would say you are naive. This is only a temporary diversion to quell the anger of certain voters. It will not get through the Senate. Even if it did, it would be challenged in the courts and found lacking.

Just empty all your pockets and give it to the government so they can give it to the banks. It's not complicated. You do want to save the system, don't you?

After all, if the banks collapse, all our wealth would be gone anyway, right? Our very existence as a nation, as a world, depends on the present status quo surviving. Just give them your money and don't ask any questions. Maybe they will loan it back to you?

2. It's a political PR stunt....
Just like the CEOs who claim they are only taking $1 in salary. What they neglect to tell the public is that they are getting tens or millions of dollars in deferred compensation.

I'm beginning to wonder if the whole game isn't to collapse the global economy and save the day with a one world government.

It's either that or the people we have elected are incompetent, criminal or just plain stupid (possibly all three).

edited to change title

4. Well, we have taken it upon ourselves to bail out the world...
You and me, and the American taxpayers, will bailout banks in almost every country of the world. One world government? Maybe we are already there?

6. in the current massive financial rape of US taxpayers, that's small change really
between corporations and politicians, the massive wealth transfer rolls on unabated. funny how wealthy people get the value and the taxpayers get stuck with the valueless assets.

change you can believe in. ok.
