Coleman lawyer predicts Franken win at trial
MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (CNN) — Joe Freidberg, the heavyweight Minnesota criminal defense lawyer who's been at the helm of former Sen. Norm Coleman's trial to overturn Democrat Al Franken's win in the recount, said in radio interview that he thinks Franken will come out on top and added they'll be taking their case to the state's high court.

"I think that we've been trying this case with the appeal record in mind, and thats where we're going," Friedberg said in a Wednesday interview with KFAN, a Twin Cities-area sports station.

"It's going to be a very quick appeal," he added.

Asked if he was confident that the three judge panel would side with Franken at the trial stage, Friedberg said that was "probably correct," even adding that he thinks the former comedian and SNL star will remain ahead "probably by a little bit more" than he was after the recount.

1. I like that lawyer. Hostile witnesses of his rank are so cool!

Now if only, especially with everything that Coleman has tripped over thanks to the media reporting all that, they would bugger off instead of prolonging this charade.

2. Coleman Conceded A While Ago...
When he took a job as a lobbyist, that all but said he knew he couldn't win. This sham has been to prevent Democrats from having the 59th vote and the rushpublican's biggest fear of seeing Al Franken on the Senate floor. I think it was KO who said last night that Franken called Rushbo a big fat liar and see what it did for him...got him elected Senator!

Blame has to go here to Palwenty who has quietly been doing the GOOPs dirty work. He could have certified the results provisionally pending the recount and subsequent appeals (such as was done in Louisiana in 1996), but took his orders from McConnell and Cornyn to gum this process up for as long as possible...drag it out. Coleman's entire defense has been a sham and I hope the judges handling the recount not only rule in favor of Senator Franken, but charge Coleman for ALL expenses in this waste of time.

Also Harry Reid needs to grow a pair. I know, I know. He should seat Senator Franken and dare the GOOP to fillibuster. Let them shut down the government and see well the rushpublicans fair. Considering the guy is from a state known for gambling, this guy is afraid to even take a chance.

3. that would include the loss of Frankin's salary as a Senator
including benefits and taxes. Also an amount equivalent to the cost of 1% of running the Senate since the day he was supposed to take office, considering the American people have lost the work of 1% of their senators over this bullshit.
