I would like to say this. Seriously.
I stopped reading this message board a long ago.

This is just a dream.

Dream made real with copious amounts of beer and other intoxicants.

I started to read this forum on Bush:s first term when I became aware enough to register events in this world that are likely to disrupt my expectations (hopes) of utterly boring life.

I was so pleased to learn that some of the things I've learned werent true - There were plenty of people over in the USA that I could sincerely relate to - Wisdom, compassion and patience. "Democraticunderground" - that sounded good - my mother is a democrat and her values have always seemed appropriate and just. The local culture here had planted seeds that US of A was a decaying superpower suffering from the interference between might and corruption. I was so happy as I suddenly had some hope that the unarguably #1 military power on this globe had people backing the people wanting controll that I could rely upon.

I passionately followed the Kerry cheerleading towards the end that... well.. you know...

Then I settled to face the second reign of residency that I was sure would bring to end the to life as I knew it.

4 years passed with steadily strenghtening sense of d00m, but gradually enough still.

After all this I was sure that no amount of manipulative effort could sway the people to vote against their own best interest so blatantly - as they had been persuaded before.

Then I had a nightmare.

What if there was no free will in the selection process?

What if the "pre-selection" of candidates was so thorough, that nothing was left to chance when it came to decision making process in the upper echelons of the system?

I began to doubt. Everything.

----------------------------------------

I'm afraid.

Afraid that all those good people that I came to rely upon shaping the better future were utterly deceived - all those good intentions robbed - all that trust betrayed.

----------------------------------------

What if they were so human, so attached to the values such as trust and honor, that they couldnt bear to think of being play'ed so masterfully? What if they chose to follow even when the fruits of the created era were plain for all to see? What if history repeats itself?

----------------------------------------

O'kay, enough of this whiny plea for common sense in disguise.

If there is one thing I'd like to bother you with after all this diatribe, it is this :

Please consider, that the left/right paradigm only "works" to a certain degree, and with by that I mean that in my own experience l/r thingie is basicly biological. I dare to suggest, that there is somekind of "selfishnes" -center in our brain that monitors and suggests proper level of self-gain in social relations and transactions. Not surpricingly the system is having to fine tune itself as externalities change, thus we have range of peoples less/more interested in their own personal well-being over others => r/l if I may present it bluntly (and in all probability unverifiable or even totally wrong).

Humm.. Where was I? (Reading the previous chapters). Oh. Ok, so - I'm trying to paint the horizon with strings of nukes forming a text that sez : For the love of man - please act as is appropriate for this moment in history and do not conform to the expectations of the produced illusion that is our media. Please, PLEASE give some healthy amount of suspicion towards the possibility that everything is not as it seems.

Sigh.

I know I could have done better sober, but in all honesty - I doubt I'd ever initiated the effort with such handicap.

Lets think our way out of this.

1. It's a rigged game for sure. All we pawns can hope for are crumbs.
Some people feed pigeons bigger crumbs and more crumbs than others. We want those pigeon-feeders.

7. another forced topic.
Darkened sense of .. humour? - Anyway, my kind of atmosphere.

I think the question is - do we accept the possibility, that the best our senses can produce for us is limited to what we are receiving now?

Slave is as slave does.

And I hate playing that game.

9. I can't fight the men with the guns the overlords use to enforce their agenda.
Has there ever been a ruler without a military? Might is right.

2. Can ya give me the Reader's Digest condensed version?
I know you're worried we are on the wrong path, but I don't spot the path you see and I miss the signposts to the better path.
Maybe I'd do better if I were drunk.

What I truly lack is the signposts for the better - I'm one of those lamentable persons that think its enough to ask the shitty questions even when you have nothing but desperate glance when the question arises.

If I had the power to influence - in the next election make sure there are plenty of candidates to choose from - and then choose in a fashion to keep out all of the prevailing parties out. You need a clean start - rally for totally new leadership that hasnt had time to exploit the inevitable benefits of power to their own benefits.

Actually - I think there is no hope because our population density is far beyond what the globe can sustain over the long run - we feel this reality somewhere - and behave like there is no tomorrow.

We are the generation that wishes all will not turn to dust on our turn.

6. ..the American Dream can not function like this....
Edited on Fri Mar-20-09 04:52 PM by lib2DaBone
Well said streetwise... voting is the OPIATE of the American populaltion..when all the candidates are pre-selected by the monied interests.

Anyway, driving along the highway today.. lovely spring day.. I thought, "What happened to the American Dream"? Where you could feel secure for even a minute and believe that tomorrow would be better than today?

For the last 30 years (since ronnie raygun) we have brainwashed the masses to believe that the wealthy overlords and Wall St. Crowd are the only way to success. All our legislation, tax laws and government were directed at this assumption.

The media convinced the masses that , "you too can be wealthy.. just vote Republican". Now everyone sees the fallacy.

Without the American consumer... without Joe Sixpack being able to buy a better car or have a nicer house.. the whole scam crumbles to the ground. The big guys on the top have really done it this time.. they have killed the golden goose.

Note to Newt Gingrich: Wealth comes from the bottom up (you brain-dead Republican Fox-watching M-Fing asshole) If we could only get people to shut off Fox Noise and CNBC long enough to realize how badly they are being screwed, we might have a chance at recovery. But with this amount of debt, I do not think we are going to recover.

Henry Ford knew the truth... "Pay people enough to buy my car, and the economy will flourish."

The greed tripper Republican Bankster/Gangsters have legislated us to death. Literally!

We need a drastic change, a thinking-outside-the box-total-rework of all the old systems... sadly, it wont come until the whole thing collapses. IT doesn't have to happen this way, but I'm afraid this is the only way it is going to happen.
