Making a solar panel out of - powdered doughnuts?
After watching this video, it gives me hope that someday solar technology will be more powerful, affordable, and commonplace for the average home. If these goofy science kids can make a solar panel out of powdered doughnuts and tea, then maybe they'll move on to develop the next generation of solar power.

It's fun video ---

1. All it takes is realizing we're surrounded by energy
and figuring out ways to harvest it and turn it into electricity and/or heat.

We're at the end point of mining it all. Now we have to start thinking a different way.

5. Intellectually interesting but definitely NOT economical or energy effective.
Given the amount of energy being generated by that tiny little low efficiency cell it will take forever to recover the energy cost of producing it and producing the raw materials that went into making it.

What I'm shocked about is that TiO2 can be used as a food additive.
