8. Working with terminally ill patients day in and day out

causes nurse burnout just like being overwhelmed with patients trying to get better does.

I understand why nurses crack up and do this to terminally ill patients. I don't condone it, but I do understand it.

Unfortunately, the court won't.

He should have quit his job, moved to a different patient care area, taken a sabbatical as a greeter in Wally's, anything besides killing the dying.

Now he'll probably spend the rest of his life in prison instead of getting the mental health care he needs.

If it was euthanasia I personally think he likely did his patients a favor -- a favor that I hope someone would do for me if I was dying a long, painful death.

But if he was just doing it to get his jollies, the fact they were terminally ill shouldn't excuse his behavior.
