What do you think about this whole "entertainer" label for The Great Gasbag?

What is what you'll hear whenever Rush plants his foot in his mouth? Otherwise, he's treated like an oracle and a sage. When he crosses the line (and Rush himself never knows when that is until well after the fact), it's time to go haring back to his studio/womb, and bleat that he's just an entertainer. Leave me alooooone!

6. Limbaugh, O'Reilly and the rest

of the hate mongers are about as entertaining as root canal without anesthesia.

They call themselves "entertainers" to avoid responsibility when their ravings set some yahoo off. "It was just a joke" they cry. "It's not my fault that someone took it seriously." If I yell fire in a crowded theater and someone gets hurt in the resulting stampede, I'm responsible.....and so should they be held responsible if their "joke" results in someone grabbing a gun and shooting up a church, or sending envelopes of white powder to people.

7. It's an interesting one

I remember getting very very frustrated arguing about Limbaugh with a roomate; because every time I would point out the fascist undertones of what Rush was saying he'd say "Look he's just an entertainer, he's exaggerating for comedic effect." But then a few minutes later he'd be expecting me to take him seriously.

People say the same thing about Ann Coulter.
