Huff Po: Jon Stewart Rips Into Jim Cramer Again (VIDEO)
Jon Stewart Rips Into Jim Cramer Again (VIDEO)

Huffington Post | Nick Sabloff | March 10, 2009 09:52 AM

Jon Stewart, whose pointed takedown of the network CNBC last week has already become legendary, returned to the subject Monday in response to host Jim Cramer's complaint that he was taken out of context during the segment.

Stewart began by clarifying that the "Daily Show" had planned to air its epic dissection of CNBC's follies before the now infamous Rick Santelli was scheduled to appear on the program, as opposed to having done so in response to him canceling on that appearance.

In regards to Cramer, Stewart addressed the host's suggestion that the "Daily Show" had used a particular clip from his show "Mad Money" to make it look as if he had recommended buying Bear Stearns stock a week before it collapsed.

Stewart conceded the point to Cramer, saying with a hint of mockery, "I apologize, that was out of context, technically you were correct, you weren't suggesting to buy Bear Stearns. That was something you did five days earlier, in your buy and sell segment." Roll the clip!

1. That's fucking beautiful...
He just keeps on hitting them hard. They were going to play the take of CNBC BEFORE Santelli went on anyway? OMG! I love that man. :P

4. I wish I could get the 4chaners to prank call his show...
to ask about what he thinks about investing in Bear Stearns stock. They do that and call Game Stops asking for this stupid game called battletoads.

5. I've always thought that. And...
... oddly enough the traders at my company mostly agree with me. Just goes to show you that common ground can be found in the strangest places.

Although I will point out that a few of them were in "awe" of his money. Those traders, I've noticed, seem to be in awe of anybody with lots of money. Just like that one CNBC dolt asking that Ponzi schemer what it was like to be a billionaire, these traders are the same type. Disgusting.

19. I have to say it's true
Back when I was a billionaire, everyone liked me. Then the medical bankruptcy hit, and I'm toast.

Someone could probably market "Farts of A Billionaire" as an air freshener and it would sell like hotcakes.

6. let me see if i have this right...let's say i'm a TV stockmarket cheerleader...
who is on video for everything i've said in public....

and some other 'comedian' on TV makes me look like a jackass...using selected tapes of my various appearances...

because i am vain and egotistical, i take offense at the selected portrayals...'calling out' the 'comedian' for taking things 'out of context'....

the main context being me referencing the specific instances the 'comedian' mocked...

in my ego-fueled anger, i do not consider that i could have provided even more reason to mock me in other, non-shown (by the 'comedian') segments of my appearances...

big fucking oops on my part...

...screw cramer and his 'nice try' with joetheinternkiller....

these guys are like the gift that keeps on giving....

9. He's a fucking comedian, he doesn't have to explain his views.
Edited on Tue Mar-10-09 11:52 AM by originalpckelly
The point here, is that a guy who's presented himself as a legitimate source of information is WRONG. When you tune into the Daily Show, you don't expect to hear advice on how to run the country or what stocks you want to pick. All Stewart does is call people on their BS.

13. Joe doesn't get it.
Jon isn't there to have "opinions" on how to run the country, nor is he there to give advice on how to fix this mess. Jon is there to call out the powerful on their bullshit. Bush gave him eight rich years and the damage is still being assessed.
Joe is just pissed because his party is responsible for this mess and people like Stewart aren't going to back off just because Bush is gone.
That tantrum by Joe should be an embarassment for everyone sitting around that table mutely letting him rip a comedian to pieces for being funny. Cramer just dug his grave even deeper by participating in that display of arrogance and ignorance.
I hope the TDS writers are coming up with a response that makes Joe call in sick tomorrow because he's too embarassed to show his mug on national television.
