What. The. :wtf:

It is the BEST show. This makes me ill.

Was it over the Rush Limbaugh stuff last week?

And if you missed it last night, check this out -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy1G1qdvIAI

1. Yet they let Glenn Beck and his miserable ratings stay on-air for how long?

3. I saw it a few times...
didn't really like it. It's like it couldn't decide if it wanted to be a serious news forum or the Daily Show. And DL Hughley just wasn't that funny as it was (compared to the Daily Show and Colbert Report). I think it was the wrong venue for a show like that.

7. I loved it.
That Frank Schaeffer interview last night was terrific.

"Rush Limbaugh is telling the truth when he says he wants him to fail. These people are ideological enough that they would rather take our whole country down and be proved right than be patriotic Americans and stand up and do the thing that every American who loves this country would do right now, which is to support the president whether you voted for him or not."

18. I loved it Proud....
"The Right Wing Christian Conservatives are like the drunk guy at the front of the train yelling and screaming obsecenities and molesting women while everyone looks on in horror"

Powerful, and very funny.

And D.L. saying "Lord, I'm gonna get in trouble again"

Maybe so.

4. I watched it once, and found it troubling.
He had Pamela Anderson on with a couple of guys, and she seemed drunk and slutty and the guys seemed...well, leering.

It was distasteful. It looked like "Prelude to a Gang Bang," frankly. I was somewhat surprised. Too much innuendo, not enough politics. I didn't bother to check it again.

Maybe I caught him on an off night, I don't know. I always enjoyed him when he was guesting on REAL TIME.

5. Here we can agree...
Mostly lightweight, usually aiming for distasteful (bogus controversy effect). Nothing longer than a minute, very juvenile, no content worth the name. Embarrassing.

12. You caught him on an off night
I thought I had seen every episode and I don't remember Pamela Anderson.

He had great interviews. The Michael Steele piece last week was very good. And that Schaeffer interview was POWERFUL.

He also did hilarious man on the street interviews.

This just makes me ill. Every time there is a decent new talk show it gets cancelled. And God forbid you criticize the GOP on the air and your name is not Rush.

6. D.L. was rough at first but I think the show has finally started showing potential
With Michael Steele & everything I would think CNN would let that notoriety build a bigger profile for the show.
D.L. sounds best when he's talking about subject matter soberly oddly enough. His style of comedy was always of the insult variety if anybody here knows or remembers BET's Comic View when he was the original host. It's hard to put that in this kind of format without him just railing on the subject harshly as he is known to do.

When he was sharing his own personal views the show sounded better & less awkward. If he did his thing more like Bill Maher did on Politically Incorrect & Real Time like he was seeming to aim for here, the show would improve.

No doubt about it the show was & is rough & clunky but they shouldn't give up so quickly especially after what Steele did there.

Well, after all, Hughley DID put down Rush as much as Steele did

And CNN is Fox Lite. You don't cancel a show that quickly without outside pressure.

10. Bingo...CNN Was The Wrong Venue
Personally, Chicken Noodle Nuze is one of the last channels I watch these days...and this from someone who lived with the network 24/7 from the time I got it in the early 80's until the start of the booooosh regime. Now I rarely watch it and when I do there always seems to be something that either annoys me or insults my intelligence.

DL's show looks like a cyincal attempt to try to lure a black audience. The timing...Saturday night...was awful to start with...a night when most younger audiences are out. There's a good reason why Lawrence Welk did well on Saturday nights. Tells you whose watching. CNN figured they'd try to be "hip"...and we've seen how bad things go when rich white people attempt to be "hip".

I've always liked DL and I think he'd fit better on Comedy Central or HBO...those audiencea are both familiar with him and more likely to both watch and support his show.

The show has it's moments but it's clearly on the wrong station.
he should move it to Comedy Central.

16. I watched the first two shows and that was all I could take.
It wasn't funny enough. Or it wasn't serious enough. I never could figure out what kind of show it was trying to be.

I like D.L., though. That dude's hilarious.

17. I found the first couple of shows pretty rough.
It did seem to get better though and I was really starting to enjoy it. The show with Michael Steele was very good.
I hope DL finds a new venue for his show, one where he can really let loose.
