Has anyone seen the HBO documentary "Right America: Feeling Wronged"?
Edited on Sat Mar-07-09 07:37 PM by AllieB
I am watching it right now, and it is really really scary. Sometimes it's funny though-like the idiot who couldn't spell or define socialism. What did you think?

I also think that a dentist could have made a fortune setting up shop outside McCain events. It was like a bad dental hygeniene nightmare.

1. The guy at 4:30 had a great point
but I felt sick when i saw the guy with the McCain in a dress sign getting tackled. They take it too far.

Scary, isn't it?

But a very well done film.

3. The racism is pretty jaw-dropping. And the Muslim thing.

4. Yes. The stupidity is amazing.
Grown men crying like little girls over perceived communism. Full blown racists. Fools spouting idiotic right wing talking points. I found it to be sad rather than scary. These people are so delusional and brainwashed.

5. That's because they get their news from Fox and RW radio.
I think you're right-it's sad that these people are so fearful and angry.

8. I saw her documentary about the Bush campaign.
She is really good-she just lets people talk and show their true colors.

The '666' idiots are totally whacked.

7. It ruined my night
I watched it one night last week and it really messed with my emotions. I couldn't decide if it was frightening, infuriating or hysterical. In the end, I was left feeling very sad. I mean, really sad - my wife noticed how bothered I was and I couldn't even put it into words to her how it made me feel.

9. I have been watching it in snippets-I can only digested about 10 minutes at a time.
It does make me feel uncomfortable that I share my beloved country with these people.

10. They like their Jack Daniels
and fast cars too. Their leader like Oxycontin. Maybe they'll start combining them for a really good buzz.

11. Don't have to watch it, lived it
Knocked on doors, made phone calls, and manned the booths at events. I live in an odd community that is a mixture of Urban, Suburban, and Rural in a pretty compact area.

I met these people face to face, one lives about a block from me. Called me an N-word lover, than called Hillary the C word informed him I live down the street and its nice to know where the klan rallies are held. Might want to have the intelligence to at least hide the fact your a nazi than said thank you for your time and have a good day.

He was a registered democrat by the way but I'm guessing he's switched sides. He had a McCain sign during the GE.

12. You're brave.
That must've been scary to encounter that kind of hatred face-to-face.

13. At first yes
Edited on Sat Mar-07-09 10:02 PM by AllentownJake
but after a while you realize these people are just cowards. They are more afraid of the fact I showed up at their house and someone from the McCain campaign hadn't than I am over any quasi-threat or nasty statement they might have made. I might run into the lone nut, but the chances of that are small. If it happened or ever happens, at least I went down doing something I believe in.

14. I watched about 10 minutes and turned it off.
Not that it was poorly made or anything. I just couldn't stand to listen to that shit anymore.
