Crap. Siegelman loses court appeal.
Just got this email.
:-(

Dear Supporter,

Let's keep up the fight. Please contribute to my legal defense fund today!

The three judge panel of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has just ruled. While they threw out two counts of my politically-motivated prosecution and conviction, they upheld several others and have sent the case back to the district court for re-sentencing.

I am disappointed, but not discouraged. The fight will continue.

My family and I are deeply appreciative of the outpouring of support and prayers. Your words and actions keep our spirits lifted and our resolve strong. We will get through this, and we will win.

Sincerely,
Don

I thought about posting it here, but it was too depressing. My heart goes out to him and his family.

9. This is total bullshit!
Innocent people are in prison or facing prison and yet the Bushco criminals continue to walk free. Didn't we recently have an election where change was the theme?

10. We have a "Change" but just not every
thing so far.

I support Don Siegelman and hope this gets resolved, favorably to him, in a timely manner.

15. Time's a wastin'
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me--
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

11. Just what I thought- three Bush appointed judges.
I don't know specifics of the case, but I have serious issues with anyone appointed by Little Caesar.

12. Oops. Sorry, I'm wrong. Not Bush appointed. But Republican appointed.
Same difference, probably.

13. Yeah, time to file an appeal up to the next step in the food-chain.
IIRC, filing the appeal gives him access to the full set of judges, not just the three Bushies - maybe he'll have more success there.
