The deserved lecture from sharia banking? Financial ethics suggestions
to re-organize and re-start a busted financial system welcome?

Freedom from usury seems a reasonable position for all responsible people. Too bad maybe that people are more emotional than intelligent and seem to almost naturally make enemies out of each other and attempt to assert dominion.

Something obviously broke this banking system. What weight placed upon human dignity and debt vs the chance at the looto? We have some tough decisions to make about financial rules and ethics.

Islamic banks urged to show west the sharia way forward

By John Aglionby in Jakarta

Muslim presidents, prime ministers and princes yesterday called on the world to adopt Islamic financial practices to overcome the global crisis and urged Islamic banks to undertake "missionary work" in the west to promote sharia banking.

Almost every speaker at the opening of the fifth World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) in Jakarta lambasted the excesses of "irresponsible, unregulated western financial markets" for triggering the crisis, and touted sharia banking as a framework for a more stable global financial system.
