3. Too many options
- Left Handed
- Right Handed
- Cross-dominant
- True Ambidexterity

Would have done. Unless the specifics are important to whatever you're trying to figure out?
Writing hand will not the best way to determine handedness, since so many people here are older.
They used to force left-handed children to write with their right hand. Tying their hands behind their backs, dipping their left hand in ink, physical punishment...
Really fascinating stuff.

I am left-handed by the way.

4. Yes, but if I had only put those 4 choices, then
there could be a deluge of people posting "Your poll is too narrow, you should include options for people who write with their left but do other things with the right, etc."

9. I started my life using both hands, wrote my name on the chalkboard with two hands.
My teacher and mother conspired to make me right-handed, particularly handwriting. The rationale was "the world is right-handed". And I adapted, but I still would reach for the door knob with my left hand, ate with my left hand, etc. Once I was an adult, I found that my handwriting was straighter and attractive with my left hand; I could even write backwards like Leonardo da Vinci with my left hand. I started thinking that inadvertently my right side of my brain (which corresponds with the left side of my body) had been neglected due to the right handed concentration.

So in my forties, I decided to "take back" my left hand and started to use it more often. I'm sure I've strengthened half my brain and I'm closer to what my natural proclivities are, perhaps ramped up my IQ to some extent.

13. I've always been able to write backwards with my left hand, too.
In fact, my handwriting is 100% better that way--unfortunately, it causes people's brains to explode when they try to read it. (I always sign birthday cards that way, just for grins.)

When I was in college I used to take notes in class backwards and then rewrite them later. I could write faster and more legibly backwards than forwards. It also helped to reinforce the information in my head, which was a plus, too.

Glad to see I'm not the only way with this unique "talent!"

14. Ambi, or mostly ambi anyway.
I don't write with my left much, but my right handwriting is pretty awful in its own right....

15. Ambidextrous but I favor my left.
I sign things with my left but can write with both hands. Switch hit in baseball, shoot either way in hockey or golf, throw left, drum right.

16. Left-handed, mostly
Operate a rifle right-handed, golf ambidextrously.
John
Come to think of it, when I'm eating by myself or informally, I eat left-handed. But I can work the knives and forks and so on right-handed just fine when I'm, say, at a crowded table.

28. Extreme lefty here.
I've always said my right hand is only there to match the other one. Although I type with both hands, and have also learned to use my mouse with my right hand. Too much of a hassle to switch it to the other side. I HAVE to have left-handed scissors for cutting fabric, though.
