I'm considering buying, never buy new but for a couple of reasons, now seems like as good a time as there's going to be. I can trade mine in for more than I owe on it, rates are great, etc.

(Never underestimate the power of the human mind to rationalize...my Dad said that.)

2. Read a good article on that recently, but can't find it

But here's the Consumer Reports link with links to info :hi:
http://autos.yahoo.com/consumerreports/

One of the things I remember about the article I read is that if the salesman tells you the deal he's offering is only good for that day, you say your money is only good for that day to make him go get you a better deal.

Or, you could just look mean and say what my 6'4" son says:

Get the fuck back in there and get me better deal!
(...and it worked!)

3. We just bought
a 2008 car, mfg. date 4/08. It was gently used, about 8,000 miles on it. I think we paid about $11K for it. Now is probably a great time to set yourself back a few bucks.
