Gates: Obama is ‘more analytical’ than Bush.
Today, on NBC’s Meet the Press, host David Gregory asked Secretary of Defense Robert Gates to compare the “styles” and “temperaments” of Presidents Bush and Obama. Gates said Obama was “somewhat more analytical” than Bush, as Obama makes a concerted attempt to hear the views of every player involved in an issue:

GATES: I think that probably President Obama is somewhat more analytical, and he makes sure he hears from everybody in the room on an issue. And if they don’t speak up, he calls on them.

Q: A marked difference from his predecessor?

GATES: President Bush was interested in hearing different points of view but didn’t go out of his way to make sure everybody spoke if they hadn’t spoken up before.

UPDATEOn CNN, former Bush counselor Ed Gillespie responded to Gates' comments, saying "of course" Bush listened to everybody. But he acknowledged Gates' key point and tried to explain why Bush didn't call on others. "If they didn't , you know, everybody has their own style. I'm not sure how much benefit you get from pressing someone who didn't want to volunteer something." Watch it"

15. The Chimp never made a decision when in office, "gut" or otherwise.
He did what he was told to do by his corporate masters.

10. "Somewhat"
He said "somewhat" more analytical??? Bush couldn't analyze whether to wip his ass or not. It's like comparing a rocket scientist to Joe the Plumber. I'd, personally, feel better if Obama would start pushing Gates out the door. I feel he's sort of the buffer between Obama and the Bush Generals and Obama needs to deal directly with these men and tell them their "mission" instead of them still dictating a lot of that mission.

14. please, W has "people" to wipe his ass for him
why should he worry about whether or not to wipe his ass. He has bigger things to deal with. Like not choking on pretzels...

Bush was only looking for people to agree with him.

President Obama* wants to hear from both sides in a discussion.
