Jindal took the bait .... now his presidential aspirations are History!
A couple of points Bobby

.... the Executive Branch of the Federal Govt was in the hands of Bush/Cheney when Katrina hit AND everyone knows that Bush ignored the dead and dying pleading for help -- so now we know how Repubs would help people in times of crisis.

.... that attempt to get elected and go to Washington to clean up corruption and bring fiscal restraint to Washington was tried with Repubs for 8 yrs, and they doubled the nation debt and brought us the present economic crisis.

Neither of these are models of Repub efficiency or morality

Your thinking that they are just tells voters all they need to know to reject any prospects of you ever being elected President.

The other Repub Presidential Pretenders must be laughing themselves silly knowing that Jindal just drove a stake through his own heart ....

1. I hope not
Luckily the public forgets stuff like this pretty fast. I think a Palin/Jindal ticket in 2012 might set a record for most devastating loss

4. Jindal and Palin will never team up ... they both are deluded into thinking they will be President
I agree that would be a disasterous ticket .... but hey, there is always Michael Steele, RNC Chair, who would run with either and bring his own brand of excitement ..... 'baby' inserted into every sentence.

11. Note the irony of a sheriff AND a congressman saying government can't be trusted?
It's just astonishing. The GOP says government is inept and then, when elected, go about proving it.

:wow:

20. What's astonishing is that was their strategy going in.
Bush deliberately set out to prove the government to be incompetent, and succeeded.

18. It's at least partly true
I remember the part about the small boat owners wanting to go rescue people and being turned back and told, "Leave this to the professionals."

I don't recall any yelling sheriffs though.

3. k*r Adios Jindal, I agree
He blew it in the speech as you so clearly point out. And what a strange speech, "Americans can do anything."
Leap tall buildings in a single bound. What a foolish thing to say.

But he blew it before the speech by turning down unemployment assistance from the federal government. This is
inhumane. It's an inhumane act. It's the equivalent of letting people starve in NOLA after Katrina.

Let them have nothing, let them suffer for Jidal's pride.

13. lol
Democratic speech writers pump up Jindal's rhetoric.

Lets see if that story about Lee is true. Probably not.

This guy doesn't know what the heck he's talking about and he says it so poorly.

And this is the best that they can do. :)

7. Yep Repubs always stand behind the flag and cite morality, it helps to hide their hypocrisy...
You have to hand it to them ... they have no shame and will say and do anything to get elected.

10. I'm predicting Repubs will do massive re-writing of history and raise gay marriage again in 2010...
They actually have nothing to run on except social-conservative issues that just don't carry the same zing when people are losing their jobs, their homes, and their healthcare.

But hey, it's basically all they got ....

14. Gay marriage is fizzling as a issue
it has passed in most states that are going to do it, and has no national support for a national amendment.

15. It is still an issue for rightwing fundamentalist Repubs ... the shrinking base...
... and they will decide the next Repub Presidential Nominee.
