Edited on Mon Mar-26-07 10:50 PM by Up2Late
...that he edits his interviews with U.S. Congress people to make them look silly!

He just did an on show interview with PBS's Gwen Eiffel and said Edit away!

The video is also available at www.colbertnation.com, did I mention that he made a lot of really easy to manipulate statements?

(btw, I'm working on the proper name spelling research.)

1. We were wondering at the time
(when rahm gave his decree) when Colbert would give his retort.

How did the gwen ifil thing go?

2. Very good, he's making it really easy for all.

I hope not too many are as mad at him as I am about the whole YouTube thing, or this could get really ugly.

3. Colbert did an earlier one about Emmanuel where he made Emmanuel look 10X dumber
Than he would have made Emmanuel look if Emmanuel had gone on the "Better Know A District"... It was hysterical.

4. So that's what I missed when my satellite dish went out
x(

Storms passing over always kill my dish.

6. Does that happen very often?
It's hard to know what to believe with what I figured were ridiculous, exaggerated, anti-satellite dish commercials from Comcast Cable.

8. Everyone said when I switched to dish I would lose cable every time it
sprinkled. Never. Not once. Nothing. It works fine. In fact, the other night while KU played it was storming a bit. My brother's cable went out and he had to watch the game at my house on Dish. :)

9. You ever get short digital screen freeze or pixalating?
I get that at least once or twice a day on my Digital Cable box.

Plus, several times a week, in the middle of the Colbert's 1:30am replay (or sometime shortly after that) my digital Cable goes completely out for about 30 seconds, while they download new software updates. It might be improving a little, but those "updates" are REALLY annoying.

21. Nope. Sometimes my DVR is a little weird. When I am fast forwarding
the commercials it will suddenly back up and replay the commercial again. I can see it even while I fast forward. So sometimes it takes a long time to go through all the commercials twice.

...that was the problem that they never mentioned on the Comcast commercials.

5. On second thought, maybe that was a brilliant move by Colbert, right in character, and helping us

by asking us to prove Rahm's point, and then giving us the material and ability to do so.

I almost want to thank him.

10. Here's a link to the Quicktime Video at his site!
Looks like he added a few bits to what he showed on "the cable."

15. What are you using to edit .mov file?
I thought to convert it, but I wanted to know if there was a tool that would edit .mov effectively?

16. I tried converting it last night, but I decided to just import it directly into Avid Xpress DV...
...and then export it back out with Sorenson Squeeze. I'm not sure if I'll do all the editing in Avid yet, or just use Pinnacle Studio ver. 10 (or ver 8). I do need the practice with Avid though, but some steps take a little longer if I do use it.

For those who don't know those programs, Avid Xpress DV/Pro (and Sorenson Squeeze) are Professional Video editing programs and are the programs that Apple's "Final Cut Pro" are hoping to replace one day. Pinnacle Studio is probably similar to iMovie, but I've never used iMovie, so I don't know for sure.

Pinnacle Studio (which is now owned by Avid) is a very good "Advanced Consumer" editing program, which I do like a lot, but it won't do everything (like importing a QuickTime file).

I also did an "Off-Air" video capture of the whole show (with the Ati DVR program on one of my computers and just this segment on my main computer as back up), so I have a lot to work with.

I did do a conversion of a small Quicktime file to a file I could edit in Pinnacle a few months ago, but I can't remember how I did that exactly.
