*ATTN* DUzy 2.0 - I'm tendering my resignation and have returned DUzy back to JeffR
I'm sorry folks, I know you have been looking forward to it, but the now _INCREASED_ workload coming up in the next few weeks is going to take a LOT more attention than I thought, with my recent dental surgery (3 wisdom teeth pulled out _3_ weeks ago, and still feeling sore.), and a child on the way ANY day now, so I think it was a little too much for me, so while I appreciate JeffR letting me give this a spin, and now I'm returing it back to its original owner.

Thank you for your continued support, and if JeffR does resurrect DUzy in one form or another, I'm more than happy to forward all the DUZy's collected from the last three weeks or so.

Hawkeye-X

1. Thanks for stepping up
It's a tough job, but somehow I think the DUzys will continue.

2. Why don't we go to the away team for a few weeks? I'll do them next week
if we can get three people to take the next three weeks. That'll give us a month to decide on a plan or for the Duzys to find a home.

3. On the dental surgery:
Were your removed wisdoms uppers or lowers? Surgeons don't always inform patients that uppers can be a longer healing process. Uppers tend to cause more discomfort, swelling, etc. Are you using ice packs?

Feel better soon!

6. Empathy your way on the wisdom teeth, Hawkeye-X
When wisdom teeth have not yet emerged (are impacted)it is a big deal and quite different from routine wisdom teeth extraction. I remember naively thinking (as a teen) that I could schedule shopping after the appointment to remove all four at the oral surgeon. Needless to say, one week later, I emerged 8 pounds lighter from a Demerol-haze to try desperately to eat pudding or anything even remotely approaching semi-solids. Talk about a lost weekend... mine was an entire week. ;)

7. It seems it would help if the process could be automated
Say, by including a "DUzy" button at the bottom of each post, next to the "recommend" link. Don't ask me how the underlying mechanics would work, but I don't
think it would necessarily be *that* complicated for someone with web skilz; just send the poster's name and the body of the post to whomever is in charge and
append it to an HTML document (perhaps with the url of the OP so it can be sorted correctly). The button could be grayed-out/disabled after being used by one person.

9. Actually I had thought of it, and did ask for web programmers..
But kinda lost my motivation to continue the work.

I did want to make it automated and already programmed to accept the link of the submitter, the DUzy nominee, the DUzy itself, and the corresponding replies... to be cut and pasted somewhere and placed in its appropriate category...

If JeffR can find a web programmer that'll do it, it'll make the process MUCH easier for the coordinator.

11. Get better, and thanks for the effort, Hawkeye-X
Had a root canal done one Wednesday, just one, and today I actually am starting to feel right.

Had the four wisdom teeth out in one sitting, two were impacted, years ago, and I was knocked for a loop for a week.

Great way to lose weight, though.

NOT.

14. It's a huge amount of work
I was always astonished that JeffR could produce the DUZYs on a weekly basis. Maybe it could be a rotating assignment that people could sign up and take on for a week. Maybe there could be a support team to help out with specific DUZY tasks. Thanks for giving it a try, Hawkeye-X. We certainly understand why it would be too much to take on.

17. hey Hawkeye- if you are in snow territory
the absolute BEST "ice pack" relief is a plastic bag filled with snow. I've had trouble with sinus problems irritating root/nerves and my old school Dentist told me to use snow- it molds gently to the face, is perfect constancy, and really helps with dental pain.

Hope you find relief, and look forward to hearing about your baby's safe arrival~
