1,052 Subpoenas For Clinton, 3 for bush
(with thanks to Justice is Comin, who pointed this out on another thread.)

It boggles the mind that the repuke hypocrites have the unmitigated gall to screech in outrage about the authorization of subpoenas when they issued them like kleenex in cold season. Dems should be broadcasting this from the rooftops over and over again.

(Justice is Comin said he found this fact on Senator Leahy's website).

1. It really does stagger the imagination.
It's a pity that so many Americans seem to have the attention span of gerbils.

Something I threw together last year

Clinton's HUD director pled guilty to misdemeanor lying about payments he had made to a mistress. This was the only conviction for anything that was done by any Clinton administration official while in office.

21. Webster Hubble embezzled funds before he was appointed Assitant Attorney General
He was convicted of embezzling funds from Rose Law Firm before his federal appointment; that is, stealing from his law partners, including Hillary Rodham Clinton.

HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for misstating to the F.B.I.
the amount of money he gave his girlfriend;

Arkansas Governor Jim Guy Tucker, a political rival of Bill Clinton’s, convicted on charges involving local television licensing, and nothing at all to do with Clinton;

Jim and Susan McDougal, who did not serve as members of the Clinton administration, were convicted of crimes in Whitewater matter. In summation to the court, Independent Counsel declares that President Clinton is innocent of wrongdoing.

Thanks for keeping me honest. Come back if you think of anything else.

3. It also boggles the mind to realize that Whitewater investigations
continued long after Clinton left office and didn't completely end until March, 2006.

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (AP) -- The seven-year, $70 million Whitewater investigation that toppled an Arkansas governor and dogged Bill Clinton for most of his presidency officially drew to a close Monday when the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the last remaining appeal.

4. I think there will be more coming
the loyal bushies are trying to frame this as a fishing expedition where you willy-nilly throw out a line and hope something gets hooked...

If you have read CorpGopActivist postings/journal you will notice that at many pieces of the puzzles have been investigated over the past few years (http://journals.democraticunderground.com/CorpGovActivist)

this is not something the Dems have just decided to investigate - it's been going on long before assuming Congressional control.

I know we have been frustrated by waht seems to be foot-dragging by the Dems, but they have only had the power to conduct hearings, issue subpoenas for around 3 months, and the loyal bushies have had 6 years to bury things.

The Dems know exactly where the "fish" are, and who they are. The "fish finder" has been calibrated and in 100% working order.

The scandals were are seeing in the MSM are not a cut and dry - like so-in-so found in bed with a hooker laying on $30-million dollars in small bills. These scandals are very involved, they are tangled, and yes they are a bit complicated to follow.

The information is coming out in a slow steady stream as opposed to a flash-flood. This gives time for the general public to digest it, not feel overwhelmed or to throw up their hands and say "they are all crooked".

Waxman, Leahy, Conyers and others are on the hunt - and these dogs can hunt

Edited on Mon Mar-26-07 11:00 PM by BREMPRO
They hold a royal flush and if they fold again, like they have done with ALL the clear and flagrant law breaking and corruption of this and the previous Bush regime, they will lose the faith of the people who voted them in power to hold these lying sacks of shit responsible for fukin up America the point that it is unrecognizable.

My sense from listening to Leahy is this time they will not back down.. and I hope they make us proud and hold these criminals feet to the fire for REAL LEGAL and ETHICAL lapses rather than all the blatantly partisan politically motivated made-up scandals that battered Clinton for 8 years.

No more mr. nice guy! I hope the legacy of this congress will be courageous truth to power and the resurrection of the rule of law.

13. Republicans don't care about the American system of government.
They used their power to destroy the Democratic Party and turn this into a 1 Party state. I suspect that things would have been different if we had had the internet blogs back then to check this power abuse.

They've proven themselves to be untrustworthy and incapable of doing the business for America. They only thing they do well is take care of themselves and the interests of the 10% or so that matter to them.

I've long been outraged with that abuse of power..that's why I put it in my footer.

They questioned whether or not the Socks Fan Club was taxpayer-funded. For the record, the congressional investigation found that it was not taxpayer funded. (from the Top 10 Conservative Idiots)

Meanwhile, Congressional Republicans were blocking passage of trivial things like anti-terror legislation.

Seeing ideas that would make society stronger
crushed under the treads of capitolism/greed
watching as our children suffer our folly
witnessing the devastation of the natural world
seeing the masses manipulated by pyshco/social researchers

the sheeple graze

I had no idea they subpoenaed the Clinton Admin that many times! Hey lurkers, STFU about partisan politics! Unless you want to explain how 3 is a bigger number than 1052!

I'm waiting!

Edit - let us see if the 'usual suspects' conveniently skip this thread. :eyes:

Two of the subpoenas went to the Energy Department probing nuclear waste disposal at Yucca Mountain.

The other one went to the Defense Department over Katrina documents.

Those were the big 3 subpoenas issued against bush, by the oversight dedicated Bushbots.
