Why doesn't the media check their facts?

It really is not that hard.

Last night Candy Crowley of CNN stated that "first time" home buyers will get the $15,000 tax credit for the purchase of a home.

It is not "first time" home buyers. It is any home buyer for one year following the signing into law.

The provision isn't unrestricted. It is limited to "primary residence." I am sure that is a restriction to make sure speculators don't get the benefit and to keep people from "gaming" the system.

Actually I thought CNN was pretty fair in their coverage last night. Gergen was effusive in his praise for the President's performance. The in studio commentators were very positive. Of course, their GOP pricks--Castellanos and Rollins were obviously distressed with both how well Obama did and with the praise he was getting from the others.

So anyone with half a brain and some financial sense still left about them will not qualify.

a maximum of $15,000.

Therefore, if you buy a house over $150,000, you will have maxed out the amount of the tax credit.
