LAS VEGAS Bond was set today in Las Vegas at one (m) million dollars for a priest charged with sexually assault and attempting to kill a woman in his parish office in Vegas.
The Reverend George Channine pleaded not guilty to all charges stemming from the alleged January attack. He has been jailed since his arrest February first in Apache Junction after nearly a week on the run.
Chaanine's accuser is a 54-year-old former Las Vegas Strip singer and church employee.
The woman claims the priest hit her in the head with a wine bottle, groped and choked her until she began praying, then stopped suddenly and fled.
