I just saw our President and Air Force One land at
Edited on Thu Feb-05-09 08:40 PM by Subdivisions
Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport a little while ago. Knew he was going to be here for the Dem Caucus retreat in Williamsburg and was watching the local news. They said he had just taken off from Andrews. So, I got in my truck and went down to Kiln Creek and there was alot of people in the area parking their cars and getting out to watch.

And then we saw the lights of Air Force One in the distance and the children there with their parents were cheering, ooo-ing, and ah-ing. As was I =)!

It was very exciting to see AF-1 knowing our new Democratic President was on board. It was the first time I'd ever seen AF-1 and I'm proud he was on it.

1. Yay! I'm jealous!
It's cool that people were there waiting to see AF1 and the Prez. How awesome is that?

4. It was really awesome! I was standing next to a woman who
was holding her son, who was really excited. She was pointing at the lights of AF-1 and telling him "Our President is aboard that plane." To which the son replied "Why can't we get closer?" And the mother answered "Because he's a very important man. He's the President and the police have to protect him so that he can lead our country."

7. That's beautiful!
It's been too long since we had a President we can be proud enough of to tell our kids about.

8. There was A LOT of pride displayed in the small crowd that
gathered just off the airport property but only about 200 yards from the end of the runway. We had a good view and it was really beautiful to see the excited children.

9. That is so cool!
I heard someone say The President on a newscast today. It took a second...then I said, "Oh, yeah!" I'm so used to scoffing at the term but now... I am so proud that Barack Hussein Obama is our President.

10. That's a cool airport.
Check out the contractor that uses that airport, they contract out to the Air Force and Navy for agressor squadrons. Hawker Hunters and Israeli Kfirs. Also L3 Communications uses that airport.

16. I like how close it is to I-64
When I go down to Va Beach I stop by there to check out and see if there are any 'ghost flights' there. They have been known to land there.
