What did Nancy Pelosi learn on her way to the war room?
I hadn't realized she was going, or that she was there already, but a simulated freeper friend of mine told me she was in Iraq today and says, now she understands the situation better. Better how? Anybody heard anything? Knowing my friend, she got two Democratic leaders confused.

1. She was with others, including Congressman Murtha, I believe
Perhaps your friend was referring to the bombing in the Baghdad pet market today that killed several people.

3. I surmised that what she meant was that it was a hopeless civil war,
and that a surge strategy would do us no good. But that's putting a lot of words in our Congresswoman's mouth, without even knowing it was her my freeper buddy was talking about. (Oh, I think she's becoming a reformed freeper. That's one good thing about these types. They come in and out with the tide.)

2. "Understanding the situation better"
That doesn't mean she's changed her mind about it. She could believe even more than ever that we need to get out.

4. I said as much, but I did it on blind faith because I really didn't know
all the facts.

5. She said after her vist there can only be a political end
to the conflict in Iraq, not a military one.
