My Denny's breakfast experience:
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 12:43 PM by Le Taz Hot
About 15 minutes in line. No one got trampled. Security present, though it wasn't really needed. Everyone was very friendly and chatty.

About 15 minutes to get my food. The waitstaff was efficient and courteous.

No one in suits. Lot of families, seniors and generally working-class people.

The food was good and hot and there was a lot of it.

Everyone I saw left a tip.

Overall, a very pleasant experience.

I got a coupon book worth 25% and BOGO coupons.

So much for all the doom-and-gloom predictions.

On edit: For those of you who are not aware, Denny's is giving away free Grand Slam breakfasts from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. Today only.

9. The joke is funnier...
(at least for us) if we don't tell you:) Seriously, though, I think Denny's had a free gram slam for everyone in america promotion, and there was chaos predicted.

3. I would lose all hope in humanity if everyone didn't leave a
tip. I've always liked Denny's and even more now. Way to go, Denny's.

Why is this worthy of a report?

13. Ah, thanks.
I like Denny's & I like that they gave away free meals when so many are hurting. Of course there'll be lines in some places! Jeez.

5. My few Denny's experiences have all been good.
I think probably 3 times in my lifetime - we don't eat out much and there's not one local - but when I have ended up in a Denny's it's always been decent. I have never understood the negative reputation they have.

10. It's not a place I'd eat with another choice available...
There are many other places locally that make a better breakfast. If I'm on the road they are at least familiar but I prefer Waffle House. Mostly I've gone to Denny's when nothing else is open. IOW they do a lot of business after the bars close. :)

8. They put me in the unused dining room
They brought me coffee and it had lipstick on the mug.
I waited forever and didn't get a menu.
So I was basically refused service and I'm not even black.
What's wrong with Tennessee?

12. Doom-and-gloom prediction?
That's 95% of what's posted.

Please keep your optimism to a minimum or you'll disturb the delicate balance.
