Republicans want tax cuts? I got their tax cuts right here
I keep reading that Senate Republicans (and the House I guess) are demanding tax cuts in the Stimulus Bill. OK, I'll bite, lets give them tax cuts. Massive tax cuts, mind boggling tax cuts that no man or woman can say aren't tax cuts.

Here's my suggestion: Everybody making under $80,000 per year gets a tax cut.

There problem solved. Massive tax cut that would affect well over 100,000 million people in America, and Republicans can say they got tax cuts.

Anybody got other tax cut ideas we can give Republicans?

9. Also used to have sales tax deduction too...

... which helped folks in states like California. I no longer would benefit from that deduction since I moved to Oregon, but now they have something where you can choose whichever you get the higher deduction (sales tax or state income tax) to deduct on your federal tax. That helps states that have sales tax only (usually Rethuglican run states), but not places like California where you have both taxes, since unless you're spending a fortune, there's no way to have your sales tax deduction be more than your state income tax deduction. Should be universally available for everyone.

2. We put a provision in the stimulus bill that goes like this
We round up all the stray male cats and dogs, name them all "Tax," and then have a neuter-fest. Tax cuts! I'm so sorry, I don't know where that came from.

7. But doesn't that come out to one hundred billion?
Hey, I was an English major, so what do I know? But 100,000 million seems like an awful lot!

8. Eliminate the DOD and Pentagon
If they would agree to eliminating the Defense Dept, we might be able to make some concessions. Otherwise, they must not be as serious as they appear. They use tax cuts as a political tool. Hell, everybody would pay zero taxes if they could. Then again, most of us aren't anarchists by nature.

10. I like your thinking, but who cares about that other party anymore?
Here's one for social justice:

"In economics, a negative income tax (abbreviated NIT) is a progressive income tax system where people earning below a certain amount receive supplemental pay from the government instead of paying taxes to the government."
'
wikipedia.

Great idea, it's only baggage is it's connection to a certain evil capitalist economist.

11. Whats the point? Tax cuts are not effective stimulators of the economy
So that aside its just politics that amounts to wasting money. Restructuring the tax burden progressively is one thing, but slashing government revenue perm to make a point is another.
