11. I think Tweety, deep down in his "Id" would love to be "a lady's man" like Bill Clinton.
He hasn't fully worked out that psycho-sexual phase that most of us emerge from toward the end of Junior High.

16. It may have something to do with their treatment of his old boss, Jimmy Carter ...
The Clintons were especially harsh on Carter -- not inviting
him to conventions in '92 or '96 and basically ignoring him.
(Witness body language during the recent WH lunch with all
living presidents.)

Also, I think he's mentioned that Poppy was the first ex-
president to really start to cash in on the speaking fees
thing, and Bill followed in Poppy's footsteps. Tweety has
noted that Carter never did that -- he's built houses for
needy people, instead of enriching himself during his ex-
presidency. I agree with him that Carter has taken the
high road and I'd hope that Obama (after 8 years) will do
something similar with his time after the White House.

20. Its funny - Carter made a lot of enemies in the Democratic party
During the 1980 election, it was crazy. I was only 10 at the time, but even then I knew.

23. There might be many reasons he may not be a fan of Clinton
Edited on Wed Jan-28-09 06:03 PM by karynnj
It could be that he supported either Tsongus (Matthews has a MA connection - he worked for Tip O'Neil and he went to Holy Cross in Worcester MA.) or maybe he preferred war hero Kerrey. Both these men were attacked pretty hard by Clinton. It might be that Matthews, who often speaks of his Jesuit education and being a Catholic was really offended by Clinton's life style. It also might be that he resented being lied to. He might also not like the agenda Clinton pursued while in office. Bill Clinton was also not that nice to Jimmy Carter. (I think it over blown to say he "hates" either Clinton.)

I also don't think it true that he loves Democrats - he was awful to Gore and almost schizophrenic in his comments on Senator Kerry, who he has claimed he is a friend of.

2. How come Tweety never hit it off with Bill?
He had a crush on Bush for a good six years. He's fallen in love with countless GOP candidates (Giuliani and Fred Thompson in particular) but why no love for Bubba?

4. I'm no fan of Tweety's, but I also think it's a little excessive.
Not to mention him tooling around with a Canadian Billionaire. But WTH, Bill will be "Bubba."

24. I think it's hysterical that he is ranting and raving over this GIVEN
that he got $5 million from GE -- a military contractor -- and wanted to run for Senate in PA.

Until he realized Democrats were not interested in his weather vane ways.
