2. NBC assholes like Tweety and Gregory do the same thing...

they ask a question...then...just as the interviewee begins to respond, they either....RESTATE THE EFFING QUESTION or SUGGEST A POSSIBLE ANSWER...or four. You can see that the 'guest' is taken aback and often does not know what to say or how to say it. They then have to reconnoiter.

4. the good news for me

is now I don't even have to turn on NBC's Meet the Press to see if it's going to be a good show or not...it's Gregory-I already KNOW him. He's just another rich kid who has no idea how regular people like my family and the people in my neighborhood have and still are suffering-he has no clue. I just automatically turn on ABC on Sunday mornings George is at least the lesser of two evils for me.

9. I actually watched my first Gregory MTP this AM. He is an alchemist - makes everything boring.

The decline of heft of our media running downward from Murrow, Cronkite, Brinkley, Jennings on through to the lightweights we have today - and yes, including Russert - he is part of the decline - is breathtaking. The complete switch of news - from actual news to sales and ratings.

Indeed. Perish the thought that a reporter should point out when government officials are making "bogus" claims and are lying a country into a war. I don't know whether Gregory's public advocacy for a meek and polite press corps that would never be so rude as to point out when government leaders are lying is what sealed the deal for his new promotion to Meet the Press -- a show which centrally depends on having powerful politicians know that they can come on and, as Dick Cheney's top communications aide put it, "control the message." But I'm quite sure that it didn't hurt."
