Will Bush be forced to do pardon fest on MLK day?...

It seems like that's his only option now.

And it would also appear that we're beyond the scenario where he pardon's Cheney, resigns, and then has Cheney pardon him...

So unless the courts rule that Bush can pardon himself, or he declares martial law on Monday and stops Obama from taking over, there's no way he's getting pardoned now. Time to PROSECUTE and IMPRISON!!!

... with his 'closest' advisors. I'm betting he's putting the finishing touches on a list of pardons long enough to gag a maggot ... and getting them over to in-place sycophants in the Department of Justice. I suspect we'll hear about them Sunday night or some time Monday ... as buried as possible in the news cycle.

He's probably already signed off on all of them, and they'll be made public as he departs.

He can pardon anyone - arguably, including himself - and that power is absolute.

I wish your scenario were realistic, but it's not.

I'm thinking something like a sped up version of the Ford scenario. 1. Cheney resigns this weekend for "health reasons." 2. Bush appoints Condi VP and calls the Senate back to quickly confirm her. 3. Bush resigns (he fakes an illness). 4. Condi is president for the final day and issues pardons to Bush, Cheney, et al. A lot could happen in 4 days. Of course, it would only be if the military industrial complex decided it would be the best political theater for the final days.

She's not immune from criminal investigations either. But I think it would be easier to pardon Cheney (non-preemptively) and have him take over, since he's almost been asking for it for all of his admissions of crimes lately.
