Poll question: Which scandal will finally take Bush co down?
Please, please, please let Bush or Cheney have some connection to importing the Chinese wheat!!!!! Even if they just cut back on inspections at the port of entry!

2. I doubt he will resign or be impeached so he will survive even if other members of his team
don't.

10. Sadly, I tend to agree with you.
If it hasn't happened yet, it's not likely to happen now.

6. None of the above.
Teflon.

Don't know why, but pure Teflon.

My theory is that when the Simpsons replaced the Cosbys as prime time TV, a new era of acceptable mediocrity was ushered into America that opened the door for a president of Bush's ilk. He's just not going anywhere.

Believe me, it hurts to say it. But I've just given up.

He's making too many people happy (wealthy) behind the scenes.

7. Aside from someone showing that Bush ordered the Chinese Wheat to be adulterated with rat poison,
I don't see any scandal taking him down at this point. And he will never resign unless the Republicans panic and threaten impeachment, which isn't likely, so we are stuck with smirky until Jan 2009.

9. NONE!
Democrats don't have the spine, Rove is too slick and we are just screwed.

Sorry for the negativity, but every time we get our hopes up that this is the scandal that will end the regime, they grease a few wheels, scare the right people and ":POOF!:" with the magic of Rove the whole ordeal will be forgotten.

13. To quote Upton Sinclair, on his reaction to "The Jungle"
"I aimed for their hearts and hit their stomachs!"

If the pet food scandal can be tied to Bush in any way even if it's only that he cut back inspections, he's toast. the other scandals require more attention than most people can spare and they are also subject to spin. Dead cats and dogs is something everyone can understand. the fact that it was grocery store private label brands that were hit means that this scandal is nation wide.

15. Exactly. People been saying this shit going on seven years now. Bush ain't going down...
Edited on Fri Mar-23-07 01:17 PM by GreenTea
January 20th 2009 is when Bush is leaving.

Every week another post that "Bush is going down"...never happens and it's not going to happen now, not with this timid congress. - Count on Bush leaving on the 20th of January 2009....The republicans and the corporations have been waiting to exploit every aspect of our lives for many years and now (like they had in Reagan to start it all off) they have their puppet spokesman in W Bush and these fascist are in firm control.

They certainly aren't going to worry or let some low poll numbers of their puppet stop them they don't give a shit if Bush was at 10% they are going to continue with their fleecing and putting laws in place to continue long after Bush is gone...They are going to continue to get what they want, war for profit and profits at home and no one is going to stop them, all we can hope for is the voting machines in 2008 won't be too much of a problem to overcome. as they have in the past few elections.

16. none
the bush cabal already "won"

they will stay in power until at least 2008

they already are 2 or 3 trillion dollars richer

they've set democracy back 250 years

they've shifted the political spectrum so far to the right that some even here consider conservatives like Obama to be "liberal"

the government that the plutocrats hate so much is utterly in shambles, unable to function as Americans drown, die of food poisoning, lose their homes and life savings, have no health care coverage

the corporate agents of the plutocracy have achieved supreme power

the illegal occupation of Middle Eastern oil will continue until after they are out of office and safely pardoned

the American middle class is 20% smaller and 40% poorer than they were 6 years ago

17. Dead pets will make just as many Republicans as Democrats mad.
There will be hell to pay when the truth comes out about FDA inadequacies. People get hard to control when they fear for their OWN food safety, too.
