1. Prop 8 would not have passed.
If his influence was still felt today and he was still alive to speak out, things would be different on so many fronts I cannot even begin to name them all.

2. I doubt Obama would have him on speed-dial
He'd piss off 90% of Republican and Democratic politicians, for denouncing the War on Terror.

He'd piss off the Religious Right, for insisting that homosexuals were human beings.

He'd piss off feminists, for not being sufficiently pro-choice. (Christian pacifist that he was.)

Like any great prophet, he'd have more enemies than allies.

4. had he lived
the country and the world would be a far different place. I was trying to think what he would think about various current issues and realized that race relations would be less of a problem with him working on the problem for the last 40 years. It would have been much harder to sell wars to the American people. He would have been a major obstacle to the Neo-Con revolution. I also feel certain that he would hate rap music for it's defeatist, cynical, illiterate message.

5. Actually your partially right about him hating rap music.
While he would hate todays rap music (aka New School) because of all of the things you mentioned. I think he would actually like early (or Old School) rap music because of it's literate, in-your-face, even upeat street message pointing out problems, solutions, and black pride all in a danceable beat. Something that-with a very few exceptions (usually by underground, non-corporate artits) todays rap has long since strayed from thanks in a big part to corporate influancing.
