Arizona license plates to have anti-abortion message option soon
By Howard Fischer
CAPITOL MEDIA SERVICES

PHOENIX — Abortion foes will soon be able to advertise their views on their state-issued license plates.

Without dissent, the Arizona License Plate Commission on Tuesday approved the request of anti-abortion groups to get their own special state plate, one with the message "choose life." Officials of the state Department of Transportation said they could be available within two months.

Despite the unanimous vote, the move was not really voluntary. A federal appeals court last year rejected the commission's contention the message was improper for a state-issued license plate, ordering the panel to honor the request.

The U.S. Supreme Court refused to disturb that ruling.

1. To be fair, pro-abortion messages need to be available too

Or at least pro-life messages that involve a human being after it slides down mommy's pink canal.

2. Pro-Choice not pro-abortion.
There should be one that says Choose Choice.

7. The idiots don't even realize how ironic "choose life" is as their slogan.

9. The problem is that license plates aren't big enough for the words...
"...Choose Cannon Fodder But Only If It's Heterosexual."

8.  And anti-choice legislation is on its way. Thanks AZ Dems for
not supporting Dem candidates and thanks Janet for answering a"higher calling" and leaving us in the hands of a completely fundie controlled state under a RW GOP Gov!

And this was what they accomplished when she was there to block the egregiuos stuff with her veto pen! and when we had more Dems in the Senate and House. But it's okay, we lowered the margin of McCain votes in the general so the fact the down ticket wasn't supported doesn't matter! :banghead:
