Imagine if you were asked in early 2003: how would you like to get rid of
Saddam Hussein and install democracy in Iraq? A reasonable person may have
answered - sure, sounds good, let's do it. Now imagine the same question
followed by - and that would cost you a trillion dollars. I doubt that even
George Bush himself would consider it a good deal. Note, that I am not saying
that there is a democracy in Iraq, or that one trillion dollars already spent
is the end of it. But even under those conditions there is no way it would
have been worth the money.

5. the statement is true on it's face, but it really depends
War is about Money. Bush really didn't mind spending the money of the taxpayers and much of that money went to his cronies whether through defense contracts or rebuilding contracts. Not to mention the money that will potentially go to oil contractors as well. War is usually about resources and treasure. Most war mongers will spend other people's money to get money for themselves.
