The issue isn't some TV-News Doc
The CNN doc lied to smear Moore's health care documentary. No surprise. That's what the corporate media does. Do you have any idea how much money in ad revenue the corporate media makes from the health care industry? From the insurance industry? Of course they're gonna lie.

The issue is, why doesn't Obama support government funded UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE.

Dem President.
Dem Senate.
Dem House.

What in the fuck are we waiting for. THis would be the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT thing we could do. And we need to force the hand of Obama and the Dems.

We need to put our eyes on the prize. And we need to keep'em there.

1. Because half the Dems don't
You go convince those DLC and Blue Dog Dems, and their constituents, to support single payer health care (quit calling it universal), and then maybe we'll get it. Until then, universal health care administered by the insurance companies is the best we're going to get.

3. Then don't bitch at people for voting for Nader
Edited on Wed Jan-07-09 12:53 PM by Echos Myron
Because Obama's insurance industry stimulus plan is a fucking travesty.

Change we can believe in?

Fuck that shit.

The Dems can either lead on issue that matter? Or they can be corporate whores.

We've got the President, the Senators and Congress. This is the test. If the Dems can't get it done now, they NEVER, EVER deserve a progressive vote again.

4. problem is that Nader has zero chance of effecting any change
and change isn't going to happen magically over night. If we're ever to get to single payer it's going to have to be through funneling health care through a process of smaller changes. And Obama couldn't get it enacted even if he were for immediately switching to single payer. the votes aren't there in the senate. not even close.

but never mind reality. live in your little fantasy world.

5. Neither can Obama, apparently
with all the DLCers and blue dogs.

We have a straight flush in government. It must be used to benefit the American people. Using this hand for anything less would be criminal.

7. I suspect we are going to continue hearing those famous words
"The Votes Aren't There" I suspect it is the Democrats number one talking point. Amazing how when Republicans only held a two vote majority they Always had the Votes...

9. I had high expectations after 2006
All we heard for two years was "the votes aren't there". Why should I have any higher expectations now, especially after hearing that a very large proportion of new Democrats are very Conservative (Blue Dog) Democrats. No, I have been greatly disappointed in the Democrats but I hope and pray they change my opinion of them this coming year..I want the "War" to end yesterday and I want Health Care for all Americans. We will see if the votes are there or not..

6. I have subsidized insurance
No it is not perfect. But it is a thousand times better than what I had.

You want single payer, you have to go to the Blue Dog districts and convince those people.

10. I disagree...
You want single payer, INTRODUCE it and see if the "Blue Dogs" dare to vote it down.
