I'm glad Burris stood his ground
That's what the Democrats need in the Senate, some backbone. Burris knows the law and to not accept the assignment of Senator would of been foolish on his part. If not him, someone else would of been selected. So those who criticize him for going through the door that was open to him, shame on you. It's not everyday a person gets this opportunity, especially a black man.

1. Me too! This fight seemed so damn silly in the face of all the
challenges we face. This Congress better quit acting like a pre-school sand box.

2. The law's not necessarily all that clear
and it's nice to see that people think that being a "black man" excuses someone from attempting to execute someone he has good reason to know is innocent.

I guess that's of America- and Americans these days....

3. Burris sickens me
For me, it will be like having a crook represent me in the Senate until January 3, 2011.

And I guarantee you, Burris will NOT hold that seat after that date.

4. As much as several here have conveyed that he walks on water...
I have some qualms as well... But, the whole appointment has become one big cluster__k so, I just want it resolved. Hopefully the committe will be thorough in ensuring Burris is not tainted by Blago--that seems like the least that should occur.

I rather doubt he'll be elected in 2010 as well.
