unless we just want to see people dropping dead on the streets for lack of care.

When people lose their jobs, most will NOT be able to do Cobra because of the outrageous rates. Most will have to chose rent/mortgage and food and transportation before health insurance. In Virginia, Gov. Kaine just proposed freezing enrollment for Medicaid as a budget constraint due to deficits. I guess we just tell those new people who need the program - too bad for you, you will just have to die. Merry Christmas from Governor Kaine!

Obama's people need to come in and hit the ground running with this one. It is our single most urgent national need RIGHT NOW and will only get worse.

1. Just wait until all of these people start going to the emergency room for health care.
Motivation for reform will come fast.

2. Then "they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."

3. Are there no workhouses?
This recession/depression is sucking in even those who may have believed previously that they were impervious to downturns.

I'll be looking forward to Hannity, Limbaugh et al continue to try to convince their ever more impoverished and depressed Republican audience that we have the best healthcare in the world.

4. He has said exactly that.
He knows that the economic crisis puts the health care crisis front and center. He has said it exactly this way.
